Dr. Amin Badr-El-Din, the Founder and CEO of BADR Investments, is an International Affairs expert, and one of the Middle East’s leading economic and energy strategists. Dr. Badr-El-Din studied Electronic Engineering and Aerodynamics at the University of London, graduating with a First Class Honors BSc degree in 1980 and going on to take a Masters. He then received a PhD, in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Dr. Badr-El-Din was the founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive of the UAE Offsets Group, under which he conceived of and launched hundreds of projects which led to the diversification of the economy in the UAE. These initiatives included the development of the stock market, the privatization of utilities, and international energy projects. Dolphin, a standout example, is a major strategic economic program designed to stimulate industrial and business investment in the UAE.
Currently, Dr. Badr-El-Din sits on several boards ranging from IoT companies to education nonprofits. He has a particular interest in solving the world’s challenges around sustainable water, energy, and food, founding and investing in companies with the technology to solve them.
