Mr. LaPointe is the director of web and creative services and the media contact for JCVI. He has worked at the JCVI for the past 20 years focused on communication of scientific information to both lay and scientific audiences. His contributions include supporting scientific communications, institutional development, and educational outreach through web development, graphic design, social media, written communications, marketing, and events.
Since joining JCVI, Mr. LaPointe and his team’s web development efforts have been recognized by Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News (Best of the Web Award) and The Scientist Magazine (Judging Panel, Laboratory Web Site and Video Awards).
Mr. LaPointe earned his Bachelor of Arts in digital arts and animation from George Mason University, graduating summa cum laude, and his Master of Business Administration in strategic management from Johns Hopkins University.
