Botulinum neurotoxins consist of three functional 50 kDa domains: the N-terminal catalytic endopeptidase domain (light chain, Lc), the translocation domain (HN or H1 of heavy chain, Hc) and the C-terminal binding domain (HC or H2 of heavy chain, Hc). The structures of several botulinum neurotoxin serotypes have been deciphered and are available for viewing at the Protein Data Bank (PDB) or at the BotDB.
